Adventures in Rockport, Texas

It has been too long since I have added to this blog. For the last month we have been busy trying to learn the procedures and 'job' responsibilities of being a camp host. The park we are in is called Palm Harbor RV Park. It is owned and operated by Steve and Dee Wampler. Wonderful people!!!!
We arrived here the beginning of September and hit the ground running. I didn't have time to unpack as soon as I wanted and just as I did get unpacked, along came Ike. So, I repacked and we evacuated. We went to Fredericksburg, Texas and stayed about four days and then headed back to Rockport. As we all know.....Ike turned north and missed us completely. We are thankful for that!
Prior to our return to Texas was not without some great travel times, scenery and great RV parks. One in particular park was a working long horn ranch. We got up close and personal with these grand animals, as you will see by the picture.
Since we returned to Palm Harbor, I have been getting up early to catch the early spikes of sun coming up over the perfectly still waters at the front edge of the park. It was very hard for me to pick one picture of a sunrise......I have so many good shots. Hope you enjoy the one I am posting.
Approximately, three to four weeks ago Jim had an accident with the scooter. He broke his right collar bone and cracked several ribs. He is healing nicely and will soon be back in action. He also has a left shoulder that has a severe tear in his rotator cuff. According to some Doctors he has no rotator cuff left. We are still trying to find a Doctor that can help him for that shoulder. We will keep you posted on that as we are informed.
Jim has purchased a new boat. We should be taking possession of the boat some time this week. We are looking forward to lots of good times on the new boat.
The picture of the park is taken from the water while we were on an familiarization run on the new boat.
