Adventures in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas

The first leg of our trip takes us through Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. We stopped at a small campground just south of Waco, TX. The next day we ventured on to Ardmore, OK. just south of Oklahoma City where we stayed at a RV friendly Flying J. Then onto Beggs, OK staying at another small campground because of pending severe storms. All clear and on to Chanute, KS. the following day. Both campgrounds we stayed at were inexpensive ($20.00) and wonderfully quiet.
We decided, instead of taking major free ways, we would travel the less busy secondary roads. Not sorry we did because the views out our windows were spectacular. We saw many varieties of wild flowers. Two, in particular, were the Indian Paintbrush (picture) and the Indian blankets. Another flower that was abundant were the fields of daisies along the picturesque hi-ways. The wide open spaces, flowing grasses and meadows with horses, cows and brahma bulls filled our senses with wonderful feelings of peace and history.
In Chanute we are staying at a city owned RV park. The first two days are free and the remaining days are $10.00 a day. Our purpose for staying in Chanute, KS. is to get a few warranty repairs done to our 5th wheel at the factory where it was born.
We should be starting our next 'leg' by next Tuesday. We will spend about a week in Peru, Indiana visiting with Jim's daughter Debbie, John, Sarah and Lindsay. Then on to South Haven, Michigan to stay for two months visiting with my sisters and brother.
Lovin' every minute of this trip!! We are lucky indeed to have selected this lifestyle. Also, lucky is our cat, Charity (although she doesn't think so) who has traveled to more places than most of you reading this.
Hope you enjoy the pictures and feel free to add a comment or two.
